  • Number of Vacancies:
The AP DSC notification aims to fill 6,100 teacher posts across the state.

  • Candidates Losing Eligibility:
Around 3 lakh applicants may become ineligible due to not meeting revised eligibility criteria such as educational qualifications and TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) norms.

  • Reason for Rejection:

    • Many applicants did not possess the required B.Ed. or D.Ed. degrees.

    • Some did not qualify in the AP TET or equivalent TET exams as mandated.

    • Strict scrutiny of applications is being conducted to ensure only eligible candidates proceed to the next stages.

  • Concern Among Aspirants:
Several candidates expressed disappointment over the eligibility restrictions, particularly those who completed B.Ed. without clearing TET or vice versa.

  • TET Qualification is Mandatory:
Candidates must have passed the TET conducted by the central or state government to be considered for DSC selection, as per NCTE guidelines.

  • Government’s Stance:
The School Education Department clarified that no relaxation will be given regarding TET or educational qualification norms, reinforcing that the rules are in alignment with national teacher recruitment policies.

  • Verification Process:
Authorities are verifying the data of all applicants using digital tools to eliminate ineligible profiles before proceeding with the examination and selection process.
