SSC CGL 2024: Exam Guidelines, Pattern, Key Dates, and Document Checklist

Overview

The Staff Selection Commission-Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) Tier 1 Exam 2024 started on September 9, 2024, and will continue till September 26, 2024.
A total of 17,727 vacancies are to be filled through this recruitment process.
The application process ran from June 24 to July 27, with a correction window from August 10 to August 11.

Total vacancies: 17,727
Document verification will be done by the respective departments after final results are announced.

Minimum qualifying marks:
- 30% for Unreserved candidates
- 25% for OBC and EWS candidates
- 20% for candidates from all other categories
Maximum error rates (minimum standards):
- 20% for Unreserved candidates
- 25% for OBC and EWS candidates
- 30% for other categories
Negative marking: 0.5 marks deducted for every incorrect answer.
Tier 1 exam marks will not be considered in the final result.
Tier II exam date: Tentatively December 2024

Total Questions: 100 (25 questions per section)

Duration: 1 hour
Candidates who clear Tier 1 will move on to the Tier 2 exam.

Documents Required for the Exam

SSC CGL Admit Card: Must have a clear printed copy with a visible photo and signature.
Government-issued ID (original + photocopy): Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving Licence, or College ID.
Passport-sized photo: Same as the one on the admit card.

Arrive at the exam centre on time as indicated on the admit card to ensure enough time for security checks.
Wear simple and comfortable clothing following the dress code.
Avoid jewellery and outfits with intricate designs or pockets to avoid delays during security checks.
